In this interactive workshop, participants will learn the technical skills necessary to make videoblogging a reality on almost any budget . As we instruct participants in creating their own videoblogs, we will discuss the implications of videoblogging: What are the risks? Who are we trying to engage in conversation? What does it mean for the future of organizing communities and interactive teaching online?
We welcome anyone looking to expand their current blog and/or anyone interested in building community through new media/Web 2.0. As teachers and activists, we also encourage discussion about videoblogging as activism, new media tools in an educational setting, and the implications of teenagers working within new media. We also aim to include anyone who wants a forum for personal expression or a place to showcase video art and confessional video art. Prior skills with online video are not required, as we make our demonstration as accessible as possible.
