This workshop will address specific challenges teachers face when they decide to break the mold of standardized curricula, but still have to produce high test scores. Participants will learn from the University Preparatory Academy model of using student-led projects for social change to develop community and critical thinking skills in the classroom, while mastering state-mandated content at the same time.
