Symposium on Popular Education
The workshops on Friday June 22 focus on media as a crucial aspect of popular education. The Symposium will bring together youth, educators, artists, and organizers to share ideas for how media arts can be used to effectively communicate, cultivate and retain knowledge.
Youth Leadership at the AMC
Young people play an active role in shaping the AMC. Detroit Summer has organized a track of youth-led and youth-focused workshops. Youth organizations will also be running a youth media lab to document the conference. And young artists will be featured at the Saturday night music show.
